LAB120 SocceROO battlers v. Indonesia

LABTonight I saw the Socceroos play Indonesia in a football/soccer match at Suncorp stadium. We sat in the Indonesian supporters section – for a laugh.
This week is the beginning of Semester 1 lectures… blah. I am over it already.

I am not really back in the groove of podcasting yet, or ‘life’, for that matter. Having a great overseas holiday always throws me a little.

ps- Does anyone know who/what song it is I play on radio at end of podcast? I kinda like it. Shazam (iPhone) was no help :-(

U suck Vis

got the news that i was NOT selected for either the Hong Kong, or Vienna, Vis Moot team for Uni. :-(

Hmmm. 4 girls were selected; all of them definately qualified to go. Two of them however, who are the top law students in our year pretty much, and have been on student Law Society, and have had numerous summer clerkships at the TOP law firms in Australia… etc etc (catch my drift?), do NOT need to have gone in for the overseas oral competition. Their legal careers are already guaranteed!
It is the people who could not get even 1 interview for a summer clerkship, or ever been selected for anything else at Uni, that just MIGHT have needed something like this on their Resume – to try and get a job one day.

And as for the University. Feedback was “all of you were high enough standard to go and compete”. *cold comfort*

So, yes… I am bloody pissed off.

LAB109 PS3 Great Wall + Vis shoot out

LABMong-mongi is hanging in there for another day as I drive to Doug’s place to play PlayStation3 with him. I need some ‘veg time’ after delivering my 10min oral presentation for Vis moot student ‘moot off’ today.
I have a 4 in 13 chance of being selected, so there IS a vague chance of me being selected.
I wore my new suit today, so I was looking damn professional and HOT in the city today. Oh, and literally ‘hot’ too, cause it was stinking hot in Brisbane today. Gee wearing a suit & tie is a bugger in this tropical heat.
Homeward bound for part 2, after i feel rather bloated from a strawberry shake at Hungry Jacks. *barf*
Oh, and what do you think about the new cheapo Chinese cars; Great Wall?

LAB108 kangaroo kebabs for dinner

LAB-artwork kebabsBurps galore and kangaroo kebabs today. My snazy new suit has been altered, and I am looking HOT. Korean flatmate is in awe at suit alteration shoppe, LOL.
Join me as I walk thru the local shopping centre, and see if you can hear any Aussie accents.
Help me carry my 36 cans of Solo and 36 cans of Pepsi light back to the car before joining me on the ride home.

2 days till our student “moot off” to decide which 4 students will be going on the all-expenses paid trip to Hong Kong and Vienna!

LAB106 retrenched Justin Timberlake

LABMy final ever ever day at the Dept of Salt – 21/1/10. Join me as I drive to work, and then drive home sobbing after work.
I chat about sweet Roy’s birthday (today), and the final countdown to submitting Vis Moot Respondent memo – to be emailed to Vienna by midnight tonight! It may also be the last time working with evil girl…? AMEN brother!
After being booted out of the building, I walked next door to Centrelink to ‘prove’ I was a student and not secretly rich. They asked me a ridiculous number of questions – so lets hope I still get my free cash from the government for being a student.

PS- I hope Roy likes his Justin Timberlake wall-calendar.

LAB105 Up in the Air with Ansett

LABI saw ‘Up in the Air’ yesterday, and waffle on about that for a short while. Also relive the days when I had 130,000 frequent flyer points with Ansett. Yes, I was an international jet-setter at one point.
Today I recorded a bit of waffle on the way home from work, mainly about impending Vis moot deadline (midnight this Thursday).

At the end is a clip from Walt, at Don’t Quit Your Day Job podcast. He sums up my thoughts nicely.
- there is other stuff in this show, but I am rushing to post this and get back to study. I know, how sad is that?!
