LAB175 nightmares & OCD

1st day of Spring! :-) This episode is about the nightmare I had this morning – involving Uni.

Also, I ramble a bit about OCD show I just saw on evil Oprah. With some personal insights too.

Probably some other things in this podcast too, but I haven’t recorded it yet! LOL :-O

LAB174 26/8/1990

“Funeral Blues”
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He is Dead.
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

- W.H. Auden

LAB172 SE23 to Greenwich (blue fairy)

I am not sure if anyone other than Guru Nudie is enjoying these video podcasts, but here is another one anyway…

Today Simon and I headed off to Greenwich.
At the end there is a few seconds of footage from a certain 300th fruit shoppe that opened in Covent Garden! ;-)

LAB171 down The 39 Steps before Les Miserables

Today was a rainy day in London, so I decided to see 2 shows in the West End: The 39 Steps, and Les Miserables.

The 39 Steps is the play version of the Hitchcock film script, performed by only 4 actors. Thus, there are some very funny moments on stage!

Les Miserables is the classic Victor Hugo story presented by Cameron Mackintosh, at the Queen’s Theatre in London. I really love this story, and musical. It is essentially a story of redemption.

Easy and cheap access to ‘the theatre’ is what I miss most about not living in London any more. From £5 coupon specials, to ‘restricted view’ seats, right up to A grade Stalls seats… you always get great value for money in the historic, small, West End theatres.

LAB170 burn down to the Wickes

This part 2 to yesterday, when we are inside Wickes, buying (very little of) Simon’s bathroom crap.
Did manage to get a dunny for only 49 quid – pretty good I reckon.

Also, stay watching to see how incredibly expensive petrol is in the UK! :-O
