I venture into the depths of Sumatra this week for my friend’s wedding! I ramble about travelling in Indonesia (hell), and some cultural observations of how an Islamic wedding works. Also, I meet my ex’s new wife(!).

As I listen back to this, I really do talk a lot about the travel. Sadly, in Indonesia, just getting somewhere is it’s own adventure. This CAN be fun, but not always; especially when you just want to bloody well arrive already!

The one thing that continues to strike me, is the complete lack of ANY ‘joy’ with the religious celebrations here in Indonesia.

When it comes to agama (religion), everything is serious, all the time. So sad.

Remberance Day 11/11/10, and don’t bloody well forget it! Also, remember that I have been on 3 (THREE!) dates so far in Indonesia. Yes, more than the last 10 years or so.

Today I ponder ‘asian cultures’ and how people can announce “I love you” on the first date! So so weird. Yes?

You can probably guess that this means there is good news on the crackBook hardware front!

Well, whilst my laptop is now restored to it’s original (2009) glory – with tiny 160GB HDD – the internet has decided to pack it in now.
To use my iPhone4 I need to have the newest version of iTunes. After 3 hours, and a crash (meaning I had to start again), it is back to saying “5 hours” to download. I hate to think how long this 2mb file will take to upload.
