Despite West Indians and African Americans having different cultures and historical backgrounds, to some all black people must look alike. I also have the same issue with Obama being labelled an African-American. His father was from Kenya, more specifically from the Luo ethnic group. Why isn’t he labelled Kenya-American or Luo-American? Distinctions are made between Irish-Americans and Italian-Americans, they are not all lumped into being called European Americans because a distinction is recognised between their different cultures.
